  • Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry is the practice of using medication to help patients relax during a dental appointment. While local anesthesia numbs the treatment area, sedation dentistry calms a patient for a more comfortable visit. Sedation can be used alongside local anesthesia for an all but painless dental procedure.

  • Root Canal Therapy

A root canal infection is often excruciating – but treatment isn't. Many of our patients are surprised to learn that root canal treatment is virtually painless. Removing bacteria and infected tissue in your root canal allows you to keep your natural tooth. In some cases, cavities and extensive decay can make a tooth untreatable. If so, our dentist recommends extracting the tooth. To compensate for the missing tooth, Dr. Ollason can place a dental implant that can support a crown. An implant-supported crown will prevent shifting teeth and fill the gap in your smile. Talk to Dr. Ollason to find out if dental implants are an option for you.

  • Dentures

At New Mexico Smile Center in Albuquerque, NM, we understand that missing teeth can be frustrating and cause feelings of embarrassment. Depending on your unique needs, Dr. Ollason can craft traditional or implant-supported dentures to restore your smile. Our dentistry practice uses state-of-the-art technology to provide our patients with effective dental solutions of the highest quality. As our patient, you can expect that your dentures will be effective and durable.

  • TMJ Treatment

A temporomandibular disorder (TMD) is a result of excessive strain on the TMJs, which are hard-working joints that connect your jawbone to your skull. When the bone, cartilage, muscles, and nerves around the TMJ do not function properly, you may experience dysfunction in the jaw joint and muscles that control jaw movement.

  • Dental Bridges

A traditional bridge involves placing dental crowns on two abutment teeth, natural teeth on either end of the gap. Your dentist must first remove a layer of enamel from these teeth for the dental crowns to fit properly. These crowns are connected to the artificial tooth or teeth, called pontics, that fill in the space. Dental bridges can also be supported by two dental implants which are surgically placed in the jaw on either side of the gap. These implants are connected to the bridge and secure it in place. Our dentist can conveniently place your implants and bridge from our office in Albuquerque.

  • Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a safe and effective treatment to address deep stains that build up over time on your enamel. While regular cleanings and whitening toothpaste can help, they can't address enamel that has already been compromised due to age, smoking, or drinking coffee and tea. Professional whitening is the best solution to achieve a brighter smile without damaging tooth enamel and uses highly effective ingredients such as hydrogen peroxide to penetrate stains.

  • Full Mouth Reconstruction

If you face a variety of dental problems, it's important to start with a plan so that each step happens in the right order. Dr. Ollason at New Mexico Smile Center in Albuquerque, NM, is skilled at creating personalized plans that solve your dental issues efficiently and effectively. A full mouth reconstruction plan allows you to address multiple problems in a streamlined fashion. Dr. Ollason will design a plan to restore your mouth by addressing issues as varied as gum disease, misalignment, and missing teeth in the correct order so your results will be beautiful and long-lasting.

  • Cosmetic Dentistry

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your teeth because of dental imperfections such as chips, stains, or asymmetry, our dentist can develop a customized cosmetic treatment plan to help you regain confidence in your smile. Dr. Ollason can help you achieve dazzling, natural-looking results. From whitening a discolored smile to correcting asymmetry and concealing chips and cracks, our dentist can address your unique concerns with individualized dental care at our Albuquerque dentistry practice. Dr. Ollason can target issues that leave your smile looking unhealthy with cosmetic dentistry.

  • All-on-4 Dental Implants

All-on-4 dental implants can restore an entire arch of missing teeth using just four precisely placed dental implants, even if you have suffered some bone atrophy following tooth loss. Once the dentist has placed the implants, they are usually capable of supporting a full-arch denture right away. Dr. Steve Ollason offers this advanced dental implant treatment concept at our Albuquerque, NM, dental practice to patients who would otherwise require bone grafting and a treatment timeline of up to a year.

  • Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells crafted from lifelike dental porcelain. Most veneers are less than one millimeter thick, allowing them to blend in seamlessly with your smile. Our dentist removes a small amount of enamel to accommodate the veneer. Then, the custom-designed shell adheres to the surface of the tooth. With the porcelain veneer in place, cosmetic imperfections are hidden from view. Your friends and family won't be able to tell that your smile is not completely natural.
